Frequently Asked Questions.

How does limescale get into water?

When it rains, soft water seeps into the ground and picks up minerals, including lime, as it passes through the soil layers. Depending on the composition of the soil, more or less lime is dissolved, so the water is more or less hard. Excess lime in the water is deposited mainly where water is heated or swirled, forming the dreaded limescale.

Especially at risk:

  • Pipes
  • Boilers, water heaters, fittings
  • Washing machines, dishwashers and coffee machines
  • Shower heads, shower enclosures
  • Tiles

Water that is too hard turns harmless water droplets into unsightly limescale stains. Find out more here.

How does TESL® II solve your problems?

Through the electro-dynamic treatment of the water, the limescale crystals are altered so that they no longer bond with the pipe system. The lime particles are kept in suspension and can therefore not develop their harmful effect.

This type of water treatment does not change the chemical composition of the water, no descaling takes place. The vital lime, which gives water its individual taste, is preserved.

TESL® II minimizes limescale deposits on heating elements, which not only lead to costly repairs but also require higher energy input. In addition, existing deposits in pipe systems can gradually break down. On the freed and newly exposed inner pipe walls, the TESL® II process supports the formation of a protective layer that acts as a buffer against the aggressive carbonic acid responsible for rusting.

How does TESL® II work?

TESL® II consists of a sanitary unit and the control electronics. The water to be treated flows through the sanitary unit of the system, which contains very powerful electromagnets. These magnets alter the structure of the lime particles in the water so that they lose their harmful effect, preventing limescale from depositing in pipes and appliances. The control electronics provide the necessary operating voltage and ensure the optimal electrical supply to the water unit.

Water is our most important food, so why do we need drinking water treatment?

Untreated, lime-rich water causes incrustation in pipe systems, regardless of material, and the pipes gradually clog up. As a result, the service life of pipe systems is enormously reduced. In addition, more energy is consumed, since every millimeter of limescale deposit means around 10 % energy loss.

Chiselling and tiling work when replacing pipes becomes unavoidable. Depending on the pipe material, deposits promote corrosion and rust, which can result in pipe bursts with fatal consequences. Pressure fluctuations in the pipe system as well as yellow-brown or green-blue discolored water are early signs of pitting corrosion. Limescale build-up on sanitary fixtures, the destruction of fittings, burnt-out heating elements and a higher dosage of detergents are all caused by hard water. The magnetic effect also increases drinking water quality.

Why TESL® II and not another water treatment device?

TESL® II uses a physical technology that works without chemicals and is therefore environmentally friendly. It effectively prevents limescale deposits and works maintenance-free. The system is also easy to install and offers a long-term solution to water treatment problems.

How is TESL® II installed, do I need a plumber?

Installing TESL® II is straightforward and must be carried out by a qualified professional, plumber or sanitary technician.

How long is the warranty?

Eco Stolz offers a 2-year warranty on material and leak-tightness within the scope of the technical specifications. Eco Stolz accepts no liability or warranty for damage or failures caused by improper installation, operation or similar. Incorrect user behavior, such as disregarding the installation or operating instructions, results in the loss of warranty claims.

Does TESL® II work everywhere?

TESL® II systems have limited suitability for water hardness below 3° KH (carbonate hardness) as well as for technical systems that require fully or partially softened water, in some cases only in combination with additional treatment systems.
